Why 3×3 is a powerful learning tool

More Touches:  All too often, young players (3rd to 6th grade) are easily lost in the relative chaos of a full-court, 5×5 game.  It’s not abnormal for an entire game to go by without a player touching the ball more than once or twice, and when they do get the ball, usually they’ll be in a hurry to make something happen with the rare opportunity.  3×3 lets players work on their game in a competitive environment with more space and more opportunities handling the ball.  It will accelerate their development.

Learn the Game:  With fewer players on the court, players begin to naturally move without the ball, learning how to effectively cut, set screens, keep appropriate spacing, and make simple read/react decisions.  This process builds on itself, as kids experience one breakthrough after another – again helped by the increased touches and constant action. Additionally, its harder to “hide” on defense.  Players are regularly exposed to fundamental defensive one-on-one and rotation scenarios.  All of this makes it easier for coaches, moms, and dads to…

Teach the Game:  It seems there’s never enough time to practice, and getting a group of 10, 12, or 15 young kids to pick up critical basketball concepts in a short amount of time is hard to do.  3×3 creates constant game situations that provide effective coaching opportunities.  Coaches aren’t just telling kids about something – they’re teaching as the player experiences the situation.

Key Basketball Training

KEY Basketball Training, is a San Antonio based basketball training company that provides basketball players and athletes with the tools to improve and elevate their game to the next level. KEY Basketball Training offers individual, small group, and team basketball skill development and performance training. KBT also hosts Elite Basketball Tournaments for both boys and girls 3rd grade through Varsity. Our services just don’t focus on the fundamentals of basketball. Athletes will also work on strength, conditioning, power, flexibility, speed, and agility training. These different aspects of basketball will help players develop a better game, get in the best shape, and reach a higher level of performance.

Coach Mark Vear has over 25 years of basketball experience as a player, coach, and player development instructor. As Head Coach for the Factory of Champions Admirals, Coach Vear has worked closely with many youth, high school, and collegiate basketball players and coaches. Coach Vear is also the Facility and Program Director for S.A. Factory of Champions, www.factoryofchampions.com.

KEY Basketball Training and Factory of Champions is a year round basketball training program. Together, they offer an array of basketball camps and clinics partnering with other organizations and coaches to provide the best service in the city of San Antonio. Most importantly, KEY Basketball Trainer Coach Vear can come to your facility and provide team training for your AAU team.

The Factory is always available for your basketball and volleyball needs. Whether you are interested in renting a single court or the entire facility, we can put a package together for you. Common uses include practices, camps, clinics, leagues, high school and middle school games, corporate outings, fitness programs, and countless other unique events. Pricing is generally dependent on time of year and day (peak/off-peak times) as well as the size of the group and additional services requested at time of reservation. Please contact us today and a member of our staff will respond to your request promptly.  

Rental Policies

  1. Must be at least 18, with a valid driver’s license.
  2. Reservation subject to availability.
  3. 25% non-refundable deposit required at time of booking
  4. Balance due upon arrival of the scheduled rental time.
  5. Reservations by phone with Mastercard or Visa.
